Computational Linguistics & Language Teaching - 13th November 2020, 15:00 -17:00
This CELT online event aimed to bring together colleagues and postgraduate researchers who are involved in computational linguistics and/or language teaching. Developers of frequency and collocations lists are not always aware of how language teachers and learners use these tools. Similarly, not many language teachers are aware of how these lists are designed and how the context of the corpora they use can have an impact on language teaching. The event started with ‘How corpora are designed’, then moved on to ‘How they are used for language pedagogical purposes’. We are delighted to have contributors who are academic staff and PG researchers from the School of Computing, the School of Languages, Cultures and Societies (LCS) and our Language Centre (LC) at the University of Leeds. Please see the event programme.
